One of the Pevensie twins or someone in the Last Battle says this quote below about Susan, and I'll never forget how unbelievably hard it struck me the first time I read it. I hadn't thought about it in years, until just now when I read what you wrote.
“Grown up, indeed....I wish she would grow up! She wasted all her school time wanting to be the age she is now, and she'll waste all the rest of her life trying to stay that age. He whole idea is to race on to the silliest time of one's life as quick as she can and then stop there as long as she can.”
Yesss!! Same! it made a huge impression on me. It was that exact quote that I was pulling from when I wrote the line about being 21😂 I was so close to directly citing the book. Glad someone caught that!
Yeah, it's something I'll never forget. Lewis really woke me up to the fact I was living completely wrong....always impatient to get old enough to do the next "cool" thing....never slowing down and just appreciating life in the moment, and taking the time I have now to draw closer to the Lord. That quote literally made me drastically change my whole perspective on life XD
yeah fsss. It's a completely different change in perspective.
Its still so easy to want to be older, to reach for the next cool thing. But the difference is now I'm reminding myself I'll never get these years back.
100%.....time is by far the most valuable thing we have. And we're spending it at an unbelievable rate. Even now, I sometimes wish I could go back to when friendships weren't complicated, math still involved actual numbers, and life was so carefree 😂
Excellent.
You have learned at sixteen what not even 16% of society understands.
Keep your way to the light.
Thank you so much! Anything that I have learned, someone took the time to teach me.
